He Shall See
He Shall See
He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities.
Isaiah 53:11
During this time of year we have chosen to dwell upon the first coming of Christ. Regardless of the events of history which brought us here, we are here nonetheless. As a result, we dwell upon Christ’s Incarnation, Humiliation, and most specifically His Atoning Sacrifice. Rather than focus on the Incarnation, as such, we are going to take a larger and longer look at His Work. The words which serve as our text for today, are a summary statement which refer specifically to the success of Christ’s Sacrifice and His Knowledge of that success. For today, let us dwell upon the words, ‘He shall see.’ ‘He shall see,’ because as God, He ‘makes known the end from the beginning.’ In order to do that He must be able to ‘see’ that end. He has seen the Grand Plan of His Redemption from before the beginning of human history. He has also seen it in the unfolding of every glorious detail. Christ has seen and overseen all of the unfolding events of this Redemptive Plan. This includes every person, every event, every revelation, and every current of human history. More than this, He ‘sees’ how this will all conclude, and that it will be a resoundingly successful conclusion. Hence, ‘He shall not fail nor be discouraged.’ He ‘sees’ and therefore ‘does.’ Let us dwell today upon the All-Seeing Christ.
Our Gracious All-Seeing Christ,
we rejoice that You know all that will come to pass;
that You have ordained it
and will see it through to its glorious end.
