The Christ Who Lives

Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand.
Isaiah 53:10
Christ lives. Our text lies in a passage which describes the sorrows, suffering and death of Christ. It does not explore these subjects without including the ultimate success of all these labors. The life of Christ was full of sorrows. The arrest, trial, and execution of Christ was full of suffering. This was not the end of Him or of the effect of His work. Rather, His death was the antecedent to the single greatest argument for the truth of what He preached. He arose from the dead. The resurrection of Christ is fact. It became the central plank in the preaching of the Apostles and the writing of the New Testament. Thus, Christ has and is prolonging His days. He living, dies no more. His Own words are, ‘I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.’ Everything else follows from this. Not only has Christ risen from the dead, but also, He is gathering His people, preparing for their future, defeating His enemies and preparing to come again. He is the Christ Who lives. Our lives are wrapped up in His life. Because He lives, we shall live also. He shall prolong His days.
Our Glorious, Living Christ,
we rejoice that You are prolonging Your days.
We praise You that our life,
is entwined with Yours.
