Changed

Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dad will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
I Corinthians 15:51-52
‘We shall all be changed.’ What a remarkable statement; especially when we consider the kind of change of which Paul is speaking. Our flesh and blood existence limits us greatly. We are extremely mortal and every day reminds us of our mortality. This occurs in every area of life. We see it in the physical, mental, spiritual and social areas. We are powerless to halt, or at times even slow the effects of age and the inevitable decline that comes with it. Yet, Paul says we shall not all ‘sleep’ or die. We shall, however, ‘all be changed.’ This change, according to him, will occur ‘in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.’ This is a wonderful prospect which is completely tied to the Person and promises of Christ. It is the second coming of Christ which occasions it. Christ will raise the dead and change us all into that which is incorruptible. We anticipate this change with joy and hope.
Our Great God and our Savior,
we rejoice that You are coming again.
We look forward to that day,
when we shall see you Face-to-face,
and experience this transformation.
