All The Ends Of The World

All The Ends Of The World

All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the LORD, and all the families of the nations shall worship before You. For the kingdom is the LORDS’s, and He rules over the nations.

Psalm 22:27-28

The message of Christ shall go to the ends of the earth. Christ gave the Great Commission to the disciples, telling them to take the gospel message everywhere. He said the end of the world would not come before the gospel message went out over the whole of it, ‘and this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.’ According to our text, the effect will be widespread conversion. We see just how successful the gospel will be when we look at who are saved and from whence they come. ‘After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands.’ Christ saves many. He said as much when He instituted the communion feast. He said He was shedding His blood ‘for many.’ We have a glimpse into the scope of His redemptive plan. He knows the whole of it and speaks of many people being saved. Therefore we have confidence in preaching Christ. He has guaranteed the success of the gospel. As our text puts it, ‘all the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the LORD.’ It is encouraging to know that Christ will perform all He has promised by gathering all His sheep into His fold that there may be one flock and One Shepherd. We call upon you who hear this message to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved.

Our Glorious, Saving God,
we rejoice that You have planned a great redemption.
We praise You that You will complete it by redeeming many.
