The Likeness Of His Resurrection

Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection.
Romans 6:4-5
Salvation brings complete transformation. The work of grace God does in us affects us wholly. This includes the mental, spiritual, social, and ultimately the physical. Christ, being raised from the dead has a glorified body. Ultimately, upon entering into His eternal presence, we will have been changed in every way. The work of grace He has been doing in us by the Holy Spirit will be complete with a totally transformative effect. Thus, as we were united together with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection. The whole of our spiritual experience is geared to draw us out after Christ and to make us like Christ. While we will not see this transformation completed in this scene of time, we will realize it entirely in eternity. It is important for us to have the long view of this work of grace, lest we grow despondent because we seem to be changing toward Christlikeness at such a slow pace. God is not flustered by our slowness. He knows where He is taking us. He knows what He is making of us. He knows what we will be when His sanctifying work is complete. For the moment we live everyday looking unto Jesus knowing He will complete in us what He has begun.
Our Glorious Lord and Savior,
we rejoice that You have risen from the dead.
We praise You that You will continue Your work in us,
until You make us wholly like You.
