Who Also Makes Intercession

Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Romans 8:33-34
Christ does much more for us than make sure all charges against us are null and void. He goes so far as to intercede for us with His Father. This matters to us in ways we cannot adequately calculate. We began as the children of wrath. Christ has done what is necessary to guarantee our justification. We have received the adoption of children into the family of God. The Holy Spirit indwells us, renews us in the whole person after the image of Christ. He enables us to die more and more unto sin and to live unto righteousness. In the midst of all this spiritual progress, Christ ‘ever lives to make intercession for us,’ as Hebrews puts it. What more could God do for us than the to look to the Man at His right hand? Here is His Beloved Son in Whom He is well pleased appearing on behalf of His people whom He has purchased with His Own blood. Here is intercession that must in every way succeed. Here is a prevailing at the Throne of Grace which is like no other. We cannot fail of grace because Jesus never fails.
Our Gracious God and our Savior,
we rejoice that You intercede for us.
We praise You that because You do,
we can come boldly before the Throne of Grace.
