Alive In Christ

But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
I Corinthians 15:20-22
Christ is the key to eternal life. He says it in His High Priestly prayer. ‘And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.’ When Paul comes to his discussion of the resurrection, he articulates the same truth within the historical context of how sin and death arrived in the world. Hence, he says, ‘in Adam all die.’ Because Adam sinned, as the federal head of humanity, ‘death passed upon all men.’ If there was to be any correction of this dire condition, God Himself must intervene. Thus, Christ came, lived perfectly, died sacrificially, and arose powerfully. Because He lives, all who are in Him shall live also. Therefore, ‘in Christ shall all be made alive.’ To be in Christ is to be alive from the dead spiritually and eternally. This is the hope of all who believe and is worthy to proclaim. If, as Christ says, He is ‘the way, the truth, and the life,’ then He is the only Hope of those who are from Adam and born, dead in trespasses and sins. The reality is death in Adam or life in Christ. Our message is ‘Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved.’
Our Good and Gracious God,
we rejoice that You give us life breath and all things.
We praise You that having been born dead in trespasses and sins,
You make us alive in Christ.
