Serving Fruit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Galatians 5:22

There is a grand purpose in the growing of fruit, and that is for people to eat it. It is the ultimate intention of the Holy Trinity that the ‘fruit of the Spirit’ make its way into the lives of all of God’s elect and that from them it might pass on into the lives of folk in the ends of the earth. The Holy Spirit has planted, cultivated, and matures this fruit in the life of every believer, to make us like Christ, and to advance His kingdom. We have a high privilege, and an abundance of opportunities. Every day, we encounter souls whom God brings across our path, by His Divine appointment;  it is unto them we serve the ‘fruit of the Spirit.’ There is that downcast, isolated person who feels rejected in the workplace. Unto that one we may show love. There is that one who knows no joy. Our fellowship with that soul communicates joy in ways it has never known. There is the one who has no peace, because of the distressing circumstances of an ill spouse. Unto that one, we may speak peace, merely by the expression of our concern and the assurance of our prayers. There is not one element of the ‘fruit of the Spirit’ which we cannot pass on, in some form, to some other needy soul. The Holy Spirit takes up this fruit and then affords us opportunity after opportunity to serve it unto others and thereby to show them the Living, Loving Christ. Here is reason to rejoice and to go forward today unto whatever opportunity He affords us.

Our Most Loving Servant of Jehovah,
You would have the fruit of the Spirit served to others,
but only You can enable us by Your Spirit, to be the means of blessing them.
So lift us up today, that we might serve the fruit of the Spirit, unto other hungry souls.
