The God Who has the Solution

All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.

Isaiah 53:6

Yesterday, we examined the universal problem of our inherent depravity and the individual consequences which flow out of that. Who can rectify this problem? Before we consider who can provide the solution, let us consider who cannot. We have read the philosophers as they have reasoned under the sun. They have provided no real solutions for the problem of sin and the accompanying guilt. Religionists have come forward with all manner of good deeds and religious practices which provide bandaid solutions to mortal wounds. The Atheist has given us nothing; no God; no help, and no hope. This life is all there is and this is the height of the evolutionary process. What a disaster. Who has the solution? Our text indicates the answer when it speaks of what ‘the Lord’ has done. Jonah puts it succinctly when he says, ‘Salvation is of the Lord.’ The solution to our problem of depravity and the sin that flows from it can came from God Alone. Salvation is, from start to finish, the work of God. He Alone has the solution to our problem of depravity and sin. He will inevitably lead us to the Person and Work of Christ. Today, let us look to Jehovah as the One Who has the solution for our deepest and most soul-destroying issues. Again, we say it with all the Ancients, ‘Salvation is of the Lord.’

we praise You that You have the solution to our deepest issues.
We rejoice that Jesus Christ our Savior
is the Author and Finisher of our faith.
