Through Faith In Him

In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

Ephesians 3:12

All of our approach to God rests upon our faith in Christ.  Because of Christ and what God has accomplished in Him, ‘we have boldness and access with confidence.’  We have all of this ‘through faith in Him.’  We understand, from other places in Scripture, the critical importance of faith.  ‘But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.’ Everything we find in Scripture from the first articulation of the Gospel in Genesis 3:15 right through to the last chapters of Revelation, directs us to Christ and to faith in Him.  We understand from the Scripture that He is the only Redeemer of God’s elect.  We understand that He is the ‘one Mediator between God and man.’  We understand that He is our Prophet, Priest, and King.  We understand that He is, ‘the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.’  We understand from His own statement that He is, ‘the way, the truth, and the life,’ and that ‘no one comes to the Father, except through me.’  This brings us to place all our faith in Him.  This brings us to a Christocentric theology, ministry, and lifestyle.  All our purposes in life converge in this single Person.  He becomes the theme of our conversation, and the true north for all our thinking with the subsequent practices that follow from that thinking.  We ‘follow the example of those who have gone before us and who ‘ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.’  We follow them as they followed Christ.  As we approach this day, and every day that follows, let us do so with faith in Him Who is our all in all.  He will see us through to the end.  Jesus never fails.

Our Glorious, Living Christ,
we rejoice that You are our Redeemer.
We praise You that we may place all our faith in You,
and never be disappointed.
