Access With Confidence

In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.

Ephesians 3:12

We approach the Throne of Grace upon the merits of Christ.  It was Christ Who purchased our redemption.  It is Christ Who, by His Sacrifice, caused the barrier between us and God to be broken down, hence, ‘the veil of the temple was torn in two, from top to the bottom.’  It is Christ Who, as our Great High Priest, has ascended into the, ‘very presence of God and ever lives to make intercession for us.’  It is these things, taken together, that enable us to understand that we ‘have access’ and that that access can be ‘with confidence.’  We come with boldness because Christ has put away our fears.  We have access because Christ has guaranteed the entré into the Throne Room of God.  We have access with confidence because the intercession of Christ cannot fail, therefore we are not in the presence of God on a fool’s errand.  God answers our prayers for Jesus’ sake.  If Christ cannot fail in His intercession, then we cannot fail in our praying in the will of God.  He has given us every reason to besiege the Throne of Grace.  The door is open; His ears are hearing; His answers are coming.  We have ‘access with confidence.’

we rejoice that we can come into Your very presence.
We praise You that because of Christ,
we come with confidence knowing that You receive us.
