Is It Possible?

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:19
Is it possible to ‘be filled with all the fullness of God?’ Paul is moving toward the conclusion of his prayer for the Ephesians. As he does, he makes what we can only consider to be a pinnacle summary statement about what he desires for his beloved spiritual children. He has prayed that they might be ‘strengthened with might through his Sprit in the inner man.’ He has interceded for them that Christ may dwell in their hearts by faith. He has pled that they might be rooted and grounded in love and to comprehend, and know the love of Christ. The culmination of all these things is ‘that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.’ Again, is this possible? One question to ask is, would God have an inspired person, writing Scripture to pray nonsense? Are any of the other requests of this glorious prayer too hard for God to accomplish? If God, the Father, Christ the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are indeed who they have shown Themselves to be, the Holy Trinity, then none of these requests are impossible, including, ‘that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.’ Therefore, we must conclude that it is not only possible, but also God’s intention. Therefore, if Paul could pray it, we can pray it as well. Our prayer for ourselves, and for those that are dearest to us, is that we all may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Our Almighty God and our Heavenly Father,
we rejoice that You are able to do all things.
We pray that You will fill us, and all Your people,
with all of the fullness which is in Christ.
