Justified

Justified

He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities.

Isaiah 53:11

Christ justifies many, by bearing their iniquities. Christ came to be the Sin-bearer and has admirably succeeded. God imputed our sin to Christ and ‘made Him to be sin for us.’ By imputing our sin to Him and His righteousness to us, God justifies us, that is, declares us legally righteous in the eyes of His law. As we come to know Christ and receive this justification by faith we begin to appreciate His value more thoroughly. The Holy Spirit does the work to bring us to this knowledge of Christ. Thus, ‘By His knowledge or (by the knowledge of Him) shall my righteous Servant justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities.’ Christ bore our iniquities and we have received His righteousness. Because of the imputation of Christ’s righteousness to us , God views us legally as being as righteous as Christ Himself. This is not internal righteousness, but forensic righteousness. It is critically important for us to understand justification. This is the act of God’s free race that guarantees our acceptance with God.  Apart from justification there is no acceptance with Him. With justification we have total acceptance.

Our Holy and Righteous God,
we rejoice in the justification which You grant us by Christ.
We praise You that we stand before You,
robed in His righteousness.
