The Son Of Man Returns

Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.
Matthew 25:13
Jesus is coming again. During His ministry Christ spoke about the future, including His return. In the previous portion of the chapter from which our text derives He spoke the parable of the ten virgins, five who were wise and five who were foolish. The wise ones had made preparation for the return of the bridegroom by preparing their lamps for the wedding procession. The five foolish virgins had not prepared. When the bridegroom arrived, the wise virgins were ready to meet him. The five foolish ones were not ready and ultimately were excluded from the wedding feast. Christ concludes the parable with our text. One thing we should draw from this is that Christ, the Son of Man will return. Regardless of what our particular views are on some of the details, we agree that Jesus is coming again. We can go to His definitive statement to His disciples in the upper room when He said, ‘I will come again and receive you to Myself that where I am, there you may be also.’ We stand firmly upon the ground of Christ’s word. We have every reason to believe the Son of Man will return.
Our Glorious, Living Christ,
we rejoice that You are coming again.
We look forward to the day
when our faith shall be sight.
