Glory Forever

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen 

Philippians 4:19-20 

God gets the glory. While on the one hand we might view the second portion of our text as capable of standing alone, it has relevance to the preceding text. We are a bundle of need. It is God Who will supply all our need. It is ‘according to His riches, in glory by Christ Jesus,’ that He will supply all our need. The glory for the supply of all our need belongs to God. We magnify Christ, His Person and work, His grace and His goodness, but we do not do so at the expense of another member of the Trinity. It is the Father Who chose us in Christ, gave us to Christ, and redeems us by Christ. The Father ‘has made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.’ Therefore, because the meeting of all our need comes from God, to Him, ‘be glory, forever and ever, Amen.’ Our occupation in heaven will be to give God glory, forever and forever. Far from being a boring inactive occupation, this will be more satisfying and engaging than any other activity in which we have thus far participated. It is the reason for which He created us. 

Our Glorious, Living God, 
we rejoice that You are worthy of all our praise. 
We praise You, that You give us the privilege daily, 
of glorifying You, by Christ Jesus.
