Riches In Glory

 

And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 

Philippians 4:19

God gives generously from a vast storehouse of wealth. As Paul closes his letter to the Philippians, he points to God, Who, ‘shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.’ This sets our mind at ease regarding God’s ability to supply all our need, in that it points to His inexhaustible resources. Our God is not poor, nor is He scratching about, attempting to scrape resources together with which to meet  the need of His beloved children. He gives out of ‘His riches in glory.’ These riches are not confined to the material.  Rather, by contrast, they are often spiritual, mental and social before they are physical.  Many of the people of God, Paul included, have testified that God has provided for their need in an abundance of ways which were not primarily physical. Therefore, as we daily walk with God in our following of Christ, we may expect Him to be as good as His word to meet all our need, ‘according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.’ This goes a long way toward composing our mind regardless of the circumstances in which we find ourselves today. 

Our Wise and Wealthy God, 
we praise You that You do not lack in resources. 
We rejoice that out of the abundance of Your wealth, 
You supply all our need.
